About Dr. Emily Foxen-Craft

Emily Foxen-Craft, Ph.D., helps children, teens, and young adults struggling to manage chronic pain, headache and migraine, chronic illness, and/or anxiety. By combining cutting edge evidence-based practices with a personalized approach, she helps individuals and families learn tools to better manage their symptoms, develop resilience, and feel empowered to achieve their life goals. Dr. Emily Foxen-Craft is a licensed psychologist in the State of Michigan with expertise and advanced postdoctoral training in pediatric pain psychology. She is also authorized to provide telehealth services to individuals in 40 states through PSYPACT (to learn if your state is included, click here).

Prior to founding Pediatric Pain and Behavioral Health, Dr. Foxen-Craft was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan, where she provided services with children, teens, and young adults struggling with chronic painful conditions, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, physical therapists, and more. She also coordinated with colleagues in Sports Medicine to investigate and address the pain and mental health challenges common to student-athletes. Dr. Emily continues to contribute to research of new innovations in pediatric pain treatment, and training psychology and medical residents in pediatric pain psychology and behavioral health.

Ph.D. University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Clinical Psychology, focus on pediatric pain interventions and pediatric psychology

Internship: Children’s Hospital of Michigan at Detroit Medical Center, pediatric psychology and neuropsychology

Postdoctoral fellowship: C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at Michigan Medicine, pediatric pain psychology

Dr. Foxen-Craft has authored many journal articles and presented at professional conferences. She remains active in advocating and educating about pediatric pain, including co-leading Pediatric Headache ECHO through the University of Michigan, and serving on the Michigan Psychological Association’s Pain Task Force.
